Have you ever gone to the grocery store and just walked up and down the aisles with a blank look on your face? Do you spend more than you should on incomplete ingredients that you feel like go to waste and you can’t do anything with? You hear about meal planning and maybe, like me, you tried it… but you can’t seem to relate that to your grocery trips. You come home and find you need to go back for those few necessary ingredients you missed. Well, no more mama! I have created a Free Meal Planner Booklet that is the perfect size for your Midori or Fauxdori Traveler’s notebook (standard size). You can also just fold it up, staple it, and use it in your purse! We are going to organize your brain, your meals, and your shopping list all in one place for 8 weeks straight, for FREE! Ready to get started? Make sure to pin this image for later and read all the way to the bottom for a special offer!
How do you use this free meal planner?
This meal planner is bright and colorful and has every day of the week listed on one side and a space for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has a little apple for a snack for the day that you can write something into as well (I always forget about snacks) and then a corresponding grocery list right beside that! I set it up this way so that all in one glance you can visualize both your meals, your snacks, and what you need to buy in one section. The finished booklet measures about 4.33″ wide x 8.25″ tall and is the perfect size to throw into even a smaller purse. You can even print off two and have a 16 week planner instead of only 8 weeks, just fold and put the pages together. I created the first page to be an idea list where you can place all of your favorite dinners. Then when you are creating your meal plan for the week you can quickly reference a list of ideas and rotate your way through them.
Many people do their meal planning a month at a time, but I prefer to do it weekly. I just find that my tastes vary week to week, what we are craving varies, what we have in our cupboard varies, etc. It is much easier for us to just sit down on a Saturday or Sunday night and have a little 5 minute family meeting, we get the whole family involved, more brains to pull ideas from 😉 We come up with our week meal plan and then I spend about 10 minutes going through our cupboards to see what we need to stock up on for the week. Afterwards, I bring my free meal planner (in my custom made Traveler’s Notebook-get 10% off if you use HipHome2 at checkout HERE) out to the store and can see both my meals and what I need all in one place. Voila! I’m ready for a weeks worth of meals AND snacks, with nothing left out!
How to print and assemble your meal planner.
To print this free meal planner properly, you need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader, most computers have it as a default, but make sure you open it with your Adobe Reader or head HERE to download it if you don’t have it (don’t worry it’s free). When you hit print, make sure to select booklet form, then from the binding section, select left:tall. Once you have done that your booklet should print out on regular printer paper on both sides. I actually do suggest printing off two, the 8 weeks just isn’t enough and you’ll easily get a stapler through two booklets. It will come out of the printer in the right order, all you need to do is cut the top and bottom to size and fold each page and staple it in the center. If you need tips or want to see how this is done, check out my (terrible) YouTube video HERE.
All you need to do to download your free meal planner is put your name and email in the box below, don’t forget to add firstname.lastname@example.org to your contact list to make sure it doesn’t disappear in your junk folder! You’ll receive the download link immediately! Ready?
